Stand-by for Liz Wardley before Heading Back South.

Wednesday December 2nd 2009 News RSS

Liz Wardley arrived in the Bay of Concarneau (France) in the middle of the morning and moored her SolOceans One-design at Port-La-Forêt early in the afternoon once the tide was high. For the manoeuvres in the harbour, Jean-Baptiste Daramy (SailingOne) helped her in collaboration with Michel Desjoyeaux’s logistical team (Mer Agitée). On Thursday 3 December, in the early afternoon, the SolOceans One-design will be hauled out at Port-La-Forêt. Jean-Marie Finot (Group Finot-Conq and Associates) the architect of the one-design series and Jean-Marie Vaur (JMV Industries) the builder based in Cherbourg (Normandy - France) will be there to evaluate the damage caused by the impact and to see how to repair as soon as possible. Nevertheless, for the weather forecasters advising SailingOne, a new series of low pressure is reaching the tip of Brittany (France) tonight. In order to avoid facing the series of gales that has not stopped sweeping the Gulf of Biscay for the past month, a weather window shall present itself next Thursday, in a week’s time. For Liz Wardley, it will be high time to head back South on the course of the Around-the-world Reference Tour of the SolOceans - OceanoScientific® Campagne 2009-2010.
