Bostik has rounded the Strait of Gibraltar at sunrise on Thursday 6 November. The first unit of the Veolia Oceans® one-design series for the SolOceans is thus back in the Atlantic Ocean after her test-navigation in the Mediterranean Sea. Bostik went to Cannes, Saint Tropez and Corsica (France) before Malta to take part to the Rolex Middle Sea Race. The sailor and mountaineer Eric Loizeau joined the crew composed of Yann Clavier (boat captain), the sailor Franck Ferey native of Cherbourg (Normandy - France) and Cyprien Bertrand at Malaga (Spain) during a very short stop. After enduring breeze from 0 to more than 60 knots between Malta, Spain and Gibraltar, Bostik is now heading North. A two to three-day stop is scheduled at the end of next week in Brest (France). On this occasion, Martin Kramp, in charge of the OceanoScientific Veolia® Programme at SailingOne, will meet the representatives from IFREMER, INSU and Météo France involved in the adjustment of the scientific equipments that will equip the Veolia Oceans® one-design. Finally, on Monday 17 November around 11.00am, Charles Caudrelier (skipper) will sail Bostik back to Caen (Normandy - France) from where he left nearly a year ago on 16 December 2007 thus concluding the test-navigation on more than 28,000 nautical miles (52,000km).
