"At least half of the 606 nautical miles of the Rolex Middle Sea Race will be raced in a very light wind, with even some parts with no winds at all", Charles Caudrelier, skipper of Bostik, explained this afternoon, less than twenty four hours before the start of the fortieth edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race. "It's the worst weather conditions for a one-design created for a single-handed round-the-world race. But it's going to be interesting", Charles Caudrelier added. "We are going to do this speed test against pure regatta yachts like TP52s or maxi-monohulls. We will certainly learn a lot for the perfecting of the Veolia Oceans® one-design series, even if winds of less than ten knots will not be encountered that often during the SolOceans". Bostik will be helmed by Charles Caudrelier, Yann Clavier (boat captain), Thomas Rouxel from Défi Mousquetaires and François Gabart from Espoir Région Bretagne. Laurent Cadoret will also embark as cameraman. You will be able to follow Bostik's progression in real time via our website on the Google Maps cartography thanks to the OC Tracker + (OC Technology) which from now on will equip the Veolia Oceans® one-design series.
