Bostik in the Mediterranean

Friday September 26th 2008 News RSS

This Friday morning, 26 September, Bostik, the first unit of the Veolia Oceans® one-design series for the SolOceans, arrived in Cannes from La Rochelle. The crew was composed of Yann Clavier the boat captain, Francisco Lobato, the Young Portuguese solo sailor who has just won last August the two legs of the race Les Sables - Les Açores - Les Sables, and as the consequence the race itself, on his modest series Mini 6.50. Pierre Vuillefroy de Silly completed the crew. For the next ten days, Bostik will be helmed by Charles Caudrelier, his usual skipper, for a series of PR and promotions events during Cannes Régates Royales and the Voiles de Saint-Tropez. Bostik will then head towards Malta, to join the fleet of the Rolex Middle Sea Race, the major event ending the 2008 Season in the Mediterranean Sea and scheduled between 15 until 25 October. Then, Bostik will be sailed back to her base in Caen (Normandy France) in order to get ready to be displayed in front of the International Paris Boat Show after having been test sailed on more than 30,000 nautical miles during the last twelve months.

Test of the Code 0 - September 26th, 2008 The 150-square metre Code 0 tested out here in La Trinité-sur-Mer by its designer Yann Régniau (North Sails France) and by Michel Desjoyeaux and Charles Caudrelier is the seventh and last sail for the Veolia Oceans® one-design class. The set of sails is now complete.
