Stopover at the SailingOne Base in La Trinité-sur-Mer

The first SolOceans One-design was moved to the SailingOne Base in La Trinité-sur-Mer (Parc de Kerran in Saint Philibert - Morbihan - France) for three months of yardwork this spring. The chain-plates and shrouds are going to be moved forward to house the new Alucarbon mast, as defined on 9 February. The new equipment for the OceanoScientific^® Programme will be fitted to the 2009 version of the OceanoScientific^® Kit. The navigation station and autopilots will be optimised to avoid the kind of damage that occurred towards the end of 2009. The interior accommodations will be reduced on Liz Wardley's recommendations. The integration of a hydrogenerator "made by the Mer Agitée Team" will be studied to meet the energy needs of the OceanoScientific^® Kit, autopilot and navigation instruments. Apart from resuming navigation for the scientific observation of the environment, the main goal of this first SolOceans One-design this season is the Route du Rhum - La Banque Postale 2010 (starting in Saint-Malo on 31 October), when it will be sailed by a well-known skipper.

The first SolOceans One-design was moved to the SailingOne Base in La Trinité-sur-Mer (Parc de Kerran in Saint Philibert – Morbihan – France) for the habitual spring yardwork. There it will be prepared for its summer experimental research sailing for the OceanoScientific^® Programme, and then for the Route du Rhum 2010.
